Forgotten Forms is a collection that explores design in ways that the wearer would interact with parts of their bodies that are shadowed and lost in interaction and also slightly disrupts how the habitual gestures that people have developed and help them rediscover other points of contacts on their bodies.
Taking inspiration from conceptual jewelry designer Naomi Filmer, artists John Stezaker, Sacha Soszno and Carissa Rodriguez, this collection started with the approach of understanding the human body and its identities.
Think about the first physical feature you see in a person or the body parts of your own that you are most aware of. There are parts of our bodies that are dominant and vocal points that stand out in our interaction with others but there are also body parts that tend to be forgotten.
Clothing and the structures and ‘rules’ that it has highlight these dominant body parts and also have significantly impact our habits of gestures and movement.
